Introduced to Eastern Canada by New World, the sportyak is the ultimate river going inflatable. Blast downstream, catch waves, peel in and out of eddies, self rescue after a big surf; all of these moves are possible in a sportyak. Each sportyak seats 1 or 2 paddlers and New World Kayak Guides will instruct you in paddling techniques and keep a helpful watch as you negotiate the river. The trip format mirrors that of Classic Rouge, except that you use a custom designed 2-blade paddle and a self-bailing sportyak under kayak guide supervision.
